This 7-day Ethiopian Coffee and Nature Tour offers a perfect blend of relaxation, nature, and cultural immersion, tracing a scenic route through Ethiopia’s Rift Valley and the heart of the Sidama coffee region.
Starting in Addis Ababa, the journey heads south through Debre Zeit with a birdwatching stop at Lake Ziway, followed by a relaxing afternoon at Lake Langano, ideal for swimming or canoeing. The next day, travelers explore Abijatta-Shalla National Park, renowned for flamingos and dramatic rift valley scenery, then continue to Hawassa, where the lakeside fish market offers a vibrant sunset experience.
The tour continues with a visit to the hot springs and forests of Wondo Genet, and a hands-on experience at a Sidama coffee farm, where guests learn traditional coffee processing methods. After returning to Hawassa, the journey moves deeper into the Sidama highlands to Yirgalem, where guests stay at a serene eco-lodge nestled within a coffee plantation, offering birdwatching, nature walks, and coffee roasting.
From there, the route descends toward the south, stopping at scenic viewpoints of Lake Abaya before reaching Arba Minch, where visitors enjoy a boat safari on Lake Chamo to spot hippos and crocodiles, and a wildlife drive in Nechisar National Park.
